Shock training method

These notes combine advice from 3 reviewed passages across 1 workout.

Shock training is a high-exertion method used occasionally to push the body hard. Instead of following a steady routine, it works by changing the usual training stimulus. [1] [2]

Apply shock methods by suddenly increasing the weight and then reducing it, or by substantially changing the exercise pattern of the other movements. Real shock training is done continuously, one set after another, and is kept to a short phase. [2] [3]
