Cuban Rotation

These notes combine advice from 9 reviewed passages across 3 workouts.

Cuban rotation is a weighted movement that includes internal and external rotation, an upward press, elbow extension, and a controlled lowering phase. [2] [6] [8]

The movement emphasizes muscles beside larger muscle groups rather than the large groups directly. Its main technical demands are precise 90-degree rotational positions and slow execution. [1] [2] [3] [4] [6] [7] [8]

Complete both the internal and external rotations to the prescribed 90-degree positions. Maintain the relevant 90-degree angle during rotation, and lower the weights as far as possible without letting the elbows drop. [2] [3] [6]

Move slowly without rushing. Include the upward press, extend the elbows through the pressing phase, and lower the weights at the same controlled speed. When a mirror is available, use it to check the 90-degree positions. [2] [7] [8]

Keep the neck straight instead of pushing it forward. Keep the abdomen tight throughout the movement. [6] [8]

Choose the load according to the individual’s strength, and reduce it if it is too heavy to maintain the prescribed movement. Modest weights can be normal: session examples included 2.5 and 3 kilograms, while a higher load was considered for a stronger participant. [1] [5] [6] [8]
