Advanced Tuck Front Lever
These notes combine advice from 5 reviewed passages across 3 workouts.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Advanced tuck follows tuck and comes before wolf, straddle, and full in an increasingly difficult front-lever progression. [1]
The position requires a slight backward tilt and shoulders pressed down as the shape opens. Preserve that alignment even when it makes the hold shorter. [2] [4]
Position and extension
Section titled “Position and extension”Tilt slightly backward without tensing excessively. Press the shoulders down, draw one knee in as far as possible, and extend the other leg straight while keeping the body tight. [2]
Changing sides
Section titled “Changing sides”Hold each side for five seconds. To switch, bring the extended leg in beside the tucked leg, then extend the opposite leg. Changing both legs at once can leave one side extended and pull the position downward. [3]
Training quality
Section titled “Training quality”Avoid closing inward merely to remain in place. Keep the position open through the shoulders and accept a lower or shorter hold so the intended area continues to receive the strength work. [4]
Practice consistency
Section titled “Practice consistency”Practice the front lever consistently. Front-lever ability can regress when practice stops, while back-lever ability may remain more stable. [5]
