Overview
Section titled “Overview”Training apparel for gymnastics and handstand work is chosen for visibility and sharpness. In gymnastics, shorts or fitted knitwear let coaches see whether your knees are bent. Handstand work calls for fitted clothing because the movement requires sharpness and a clear body line. [1] [2]
Gymnastics clothing
Section titled “Gymnastics clothing”Wear shorts or fitted knitwear for gymnastics. The reason is practical: coaches need to see whether your knees are bent. [1]
Handstand clothing
Section titled “Handstand clothing”Handstand is a movement that requires sharpness, and a clear body line matters. If your shirt hangs outside, tuck it in or take it off. If your tracksuit ripples, wear fitted clothing instead. [2]
Small clothing details matter because they reduce surface area and keep the line clean. In shows, performers wear sharp, fitted outfits; loose or baggy clothing is not part of that look. [2]
To keep a shirt tucked, fold it over itself three to four times. Folded this way it stays in place and does not come out. [3]
